Steel Panther kicks off the evening with “Goin’ in the Backdoor” off their newly released album “Lower the Bar”. By the reaction of fans coming in the front door, no opening song could be more appropriate. Going back to some earlier work, “Eyes of a Panther” continues to rile up the crowd. One of my biggest questions is who wouldn’t want to be “Just Like Tiger Woods”? All kidding aside, since my sense of satire likely pales in comparison to Steel Panther anyway, songs old and new would kick off an amazing night.
The City of Brotherly Love decided to share some love with Rock Titan Music Television on this night of debauchery. What became immediately clear is that Steel Panther is much more than their music. These wild musicians from the sunset strip aren’t only a brand as a band, but as individuals. There was overwhelming adoration for Lexxi Foxx. Whoever said Bass Players get no love? Lexxi has a harem of women in Philly ready to do his bidding. Michael Starr is clearly another fan favorite and those reasons are obvious. Starr is that quintessential Rockstar/Bad boy. While you’d like to say you never know what you’re going to get, you go to see Steel Panther because you know exactly what you’re going to get.
