Story, Photos, and Interview by Out With Ambler
A cold and rainy Sunday night in Raleigh, North Carolina didn’t stop fans from lining up early for All Hail The Yeti, All That Remains and In Flames. With their power blend of Black Metal, Southern Groove and Stoner Rock, All Hail The Yeti socked this crowd right in the gut with a show they won’t soon forget.
I can not speak of All That Remains without touching on the tragic death of Oli Herbert. He is greatly missed by his band and his fans. Oli’s contribution to All That Remains will never be denied. I will, however, gladly say that I believe ATR has found a wonderful fit with Jason Richardson. Jason has some massive shoes to fill and I believe he is wearing those shoes with reverence and respect. All That Remains is always one of my favorite acts and absolutely never disappoint live. Tonight was no exception. Their 45-minute set included offerings from their latest (and 9th) release ‘Victim Of The New Disease‘ all the way back to their third album ‘The Fall Of Ideals‘.

Lastly, we have In Flames. What can I say that hasn’t been said before about this incredible band from Sweden? Certainly one of the forefathers of Melodic Death Metal and a master of their craft! The band gave us sixteen songs this night, taking us all the way back to 1999’s ‘Colony‘ up through their thirteenth studio release ‘I, The Mask’. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed the whole set. The performance of the songs, the fan interaction and Anders Fridén’s wit made for a highly entertaining evening and I will most certainly be on the lookout for In Flames coming again to a venue near me, and you should too!
