It’s a special thing when a band uses their talent and platform not just to entertain, but to bring a positive message to the masses. Nothing More nothing less. That attribute of the rockers, that make up Nothing More, is what sets them apart from so many other musical acts in the industry today. Sure there are many excellent songwriters out there. They tell great stories. Some have great messages. But, the songwriting of Nothing More touches on topics that are so deeply sensitive and prominent in the society we live today. These guys from Texas not only prove that Rock is alive and well, but they share their lyrics of what it means to be alive and well.
Mark Vollelunga Interview with Rock Titan TV
The latest creation of Nothing More, ‘The Stories We Tell Ourselves‘, has a number of songs that have become chart topping singles. However, it’s their previous album ‘Nothing More‘, where the band truly found their voice both literally and figuratively. Jonny Hawkins took over vocals in such a marvelous way, the band maybe for the first time had an identity that not only could they own but build upon. After speaking with Mark Vollelunga (see interview above), it’s clear the guys have a trusting friendship going back years. That friendship then evolved into a kinship with a common goal to make a career out of being musicians.
Making it in the music business is no easy task. Just ask any band still playing the small indoor venues, where it’s more often then not a pay to play scenario. Once bands start filling out amphitheaters, getting nominated for grammy’s, and topping billboard charts, that’s something else entirely. Nothing More has been on a journey that proves talent combined with focus, determination, and sheet passion can propel a band to stardom. Long gone are the days of practicing in their garages and basements after school. It’s now playing on Live Nation tours and Danny Wimmer festivals.
