Heavy Metal Band SIREN Proves it’s NEVER TOO LATE for Dreams to Come True!

I don’t know about you? But I, Scotty J, am definitely a dreamer. I always have been. I always will be. It is funny that I’m immediately called to recite John Lennon “You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one”. For I know that I’m not alone. However, how many of us have had a dream and actually had the opportunity to live it? For the Heavy Metal band, SIREN, they got to live their dream in the most unexpected way.

About a month ago I received a press release about a documentary produced by Chris Jericho. As a big fan of Fozzy, and having hosted Jericho on Rock Titan Live in 2020, I had to check this out. Now I had never heard of SIREN before. However, given the title “I’m Too Old For This Sh*t – A Heavy Metal Fairy Tale Documentary”, I had to check it out. I’m so glad I did, and once you do you will be too!

We’ve all had dreams, but how many of us get to realize them? I’m certainly trying to live my dreams through everything I do with Rock Titan. But, I had to speak with someone who’s actually been there and done that. So, I reached out to the powers that be to see if there were a chance I might get to speak with SIREN drummer Ed Aborn. After watching the SIREN documentary, I couldn’t wait to get Ed’s take on this entire experience. When you watch the movie “I’m Too Old For This Sh*t – A Heavy Metal Fairy Tale Documentary”, followed by the interview with Aborn and myself, you should be left with feelings of awe and inspiration.

Imagine being in a band with aspirations of greatness. Time and life run their course and things simply flame out as they sometimes do. As an artist you leave it all on the table fully accepting that perhaps fortune and fame just wasn’t in the cards? Then one day, 30 years past the prime of your life, in this age of technology and social media, someone reaches out asking “Hey! What ever happened to so and so?” Wait a minute. It’s been 30 years since I was in a band that I didn’t think anyone even knew about then, and you’re asking me what happened now? Well that’s exactly what happened to Ed Aborn and his band SIREN.

Before you even realize what’s going on you’ve got the old band back together again, you’re off to an amazing European Heavy Metal event, only to be greeted by music fans as if you’d never stopped playing. Once you watch this documentary, you’ll find it impossible not to be inspired. Perhaps you’ll find yourself reaching out to old pals if for not other reason than to reminisce. But, make no mistake. Dreams do come true. SIREN has lived it. Do yourselves a favor and watch “I’m Too Old For This Sh*t – A Heavy Metal Fairy Tale Documentary”. It’s never too late to live your dreams!
