Rock Titan founder and host Scotty J recently welcomed vocalist Coosh and bassist Pete of Who on Earth? to the Rock Titan Podcast for an in-depth conversation about the band’s latest album, It Takes the Village, their unconventional journey as a band, and their mission to keep the spirit of classic hard rock and metal alive.

Known for spotlighting both legendary artists and rising forces in rock and metal, Scotty J guided the discussion through the band’s origins, creative process, touring ambitions, and future plans — giving fans a closer look at the personalities and passion driving Who on Earth?.

From Superstorm Sandy to a Full-Fledged Rock Band

Who on Earth? was born out of chaos, resilience, and a shared love for authentic rock music. Lead singer Coosh originally hails from Canada but now calls Florida home, while bassist Pete and the rest of the band are primarily based in New Jersey.

During the Rock Titan Podcast interview with Scotty J, the band explained how their story began in January 2013, shortly after Superstorm Sandy devastated parts of the East Coast. Coosh traveled to Staten Island for fiberglass repair work and quickly became immersed in the local music scene.

After a short-lived stint in another original band, Coosh connected with Pete through a cover band project. Before long, both musicians realized they wanted something more meaningful than simply replaying other artists’ songs.

“We wanted to bring back the hooks, the solos, and the energy that made us fall in love with rock music in the first place,” the band shared with Scotty J.

Inspired by the rock and metal giants of the ’80s, ’90s, and early 2000s, Who on Earth? built their sound around memorable choruses, driving riffs, and dynamic musicianship — elements they believe are often missing from modern rock.

It Takes the Village Arrives May 8

A major focus of the conversation with Scotty J centered around the band’s newest album, It Takes the Village, which officially releases on May 8.

One of the most notable contributors to the record is renowned guitarist Mike Orlando of Adrenaline Mob fame. Orlando not only produced the album at Sonic Stomp Studios, but also contributed guitar work and solos throughout the project. His involvement was so extensive that the band affectionately refers to him as the “sixth member” of Who on Earth?.

The collaboration elevated the album’s production quality while preserving the raw energy and melodic intensity the band wanted to achieve.

A Modern Band Built Through Remote Collaboration

Another topic explored during the Rock Titan Podcast was the band’s unique approach to collaboration. Despite living in different states, Who on Earth? has learned how to maximize technology to stay productive and creative.

Pete primarily handles the instrumental foundations while Coosh develops melodies and lyrics. Demo tracks featuring rhythm guitars and programmed drums are exchanged digitally through platforms like Zoom and Skype before the band eventually reunites in New Jersey for rehearsals and final arrangements.

Coosh jokingly told Scotty J that while the rest of the band handles the complicated technical work, he’s “just yodeling” over the tracks.

In reality, however, the songwriting process is highly collaborative, with Coosh and Pete sharing lyrical duties almost evenly.

International Fans Are Listening

As Scotty J pointed out during the interview, Who on Earth?’s audience is rapidly expanding beyond the United States.

Using Spotify for Artists analytics, the band has discovered strong listener bases across multiple countries, including:

  • United States
  • Canada
  • Mexico
  • Brazil
  • Spain
  • Germany
  • Austria
  • Sweden
  • United Kingdom

Brazil and South America have become particularly strong markets for the band’s music, while Europe remains a major goal for future touring opportunities.

Hitting the Road in 2026

Touring remains a major focus for Who on Earth?, who emphasized to Scotty J that building a lasting rock career requires more than just releasing music online.

The band discussed upcoming tour dates stretching across the East Coast and Midwest, with planned stops in states including Michigan, Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota.

Over the years, they’ve already built a strong regional reputation by performing at respected New Jersey venues like Dingbats, Starland Ballroom, Wonder Bar, and the legendary Stone Pony.

Their goal now is to continue climbing toward larger stages and major metal festival opportunities.

Surprise Guest Vocals on “The Unbeaten”

One of the more surprising stories shared during the podcast involved the track “The Unbeaten,” which features a guest appearance by vocalist Jillian — a finance professional who works on Wall Street.

Despite not being a professional singer, Jillian delivered a standout vocal performance that impressed both the band and Scotty J during the discussion.

While her involvement currently spans only one track, Who on Earth? hinted that future collaborations remain possible.

More Music Videos and New Material Already in Progress

Who on Earth? also revealed to Scotty J that they are already planning additional music videos to support It Takes the Village.

Upcoming visual releases are expected for:

  • “Shadows”
  • “Good Man Down”
  • “Double or Nothing”

The band teased a casino-themed concept for “Double or Nothing,” inspired in part by Coosh’s former experiences working on Wall Street before fully committing to music full-time.

That transition, according to Coosh, dramatically improved his quality of life and allowed him to pursue his passion for music without compromise.

Even more impressive, the band has already begun writing material for their next album while simultaneously promoting It Takes the Village — a work ethic inspired by many of the legendary bands they admire.

Influences, Rivalries, and Dream Tours

The Rock Titan Podcast episode also featured plenty of personality and humor, including sports rivalry banter between Pete, a devoted New York Giants fan, and Scotty J, who proudly supports the Philadelphia Eagles.

Musically, the band cited acts like Rival Sons as modern inspirations while also discussing dream touring opportunities that include sharing the stage with Iron Maiden. Pete specifically referenced legendary bassist Steve Harris as one of his biggest influences.

Keeping the Spirit of Rock Alive

By the end of the conversation, one thing became abundantly clear: Who on Earth? is fully committed to preserving the emotional impact, musicianship, and excitement that defined generations of hard rock and metal.

Through relentless work ethic, remote collaboration, ambitious touring plans, and a dedication to memorable songwriting, the band is carving out its own place in today’s rock landscape.

As Scotty J highlighted throughout the Rock Titan Podcast episode, It Takes the Village is more than just another album release — it’s a statement from a band determined to keep real rock music thriving for years to come.
