A religious experience. That's what any Slayer fan will tell you they take away from a Slayer show. Tonight in Raleigh, North Carolina, a religious experience was precisely what I watched those loyal fans receive.
This evening was my third time catching the guys on their final tour, but this leg found them with Philip H. Anselmo and the Illegals, Ministry, and Primus supporting. Indeed an eclectic mix and one that seemed to work well form the crowd's reaction throughout the evening.
Slayers' Sunday evening service at PNC arena was certainly not lacking in worshiper's favorite hymns. Twenty songs spanning ten studio albums were bestowed upon us. Repentless, Postmortem, Hell Awaits, South Of Heaven and Reining Blood, just to name a very few.
Even though Slayer has been touring for over a year on this final tour, they continue to bring to the stage all the power and incredible presentation as when they started. I am very thankful to have been granted the opportunity to cover such a part of metal history and I urge you to become part of that history yourself.
